The Little Red Hen

Parents, Our story in Open Court for the week is "The Little Red Hen". We have discussed that this story is a folktale. Ask your child if he/ she can remember what a folktale is. We have read many different versions of the story and have compared them to the original one in our Open Court Series. After reading other versions, we went back and read the one in our reading series. We then listed all of the key words from the story and made a tagxedo. My challenge to you is ask your child what he/ she remembers from the story. Ask what is his favorite part and why. When you have done this, please leave me a comment and let me know. I cannot wait to hear from you all!

Congrats to Rob and NiJayla for winning a jump rope in P.E. They did so well participating in the St. Jude Jump Rope for Heart, that Coach Brennen gave them a jump rope to carry home. Way to go guys, Mrs. Judy is very proud of you. Keep up the good work!
